Almandin Plaque PLQ7
Shipping: 1-3 days
The orchid Cattleya Capeheart is really something special, holding dark red and deep mauve blooms. This clone, known as ‘Almandin’, gained an Award of Merit from the RHS in September 1931. Fortunately for orchid lovers, this plaque orchid was painted by Nelly Roberts and kept in the RHS Lindley Collections for future generations.
These complex colour combinations require layer upon layer of glaze application to ensure that the richness of this plaque does justice to Nelly’s work. Moorcroft’s Almandin raises the darker coloured lip of deep purple as an emblem of triumph flagged by stems of cabbage greens.
