Anemone Flambé 3-inch vase
A richly coloured 3-inch Anemone Flambé 33/3 vase made around 1938 by William Moorcroft.
A garland of anemone flowers circles the vase, their vermilion and crimson petals set against a deep flambé ground where tones of midnight blue and teal gather at the base. Compact in form yet striking in presence, the design shows William Moorcroft’s assured hand in both tubelining and colour balance.
Very Good condition. The vase has William Moorcroft’s initials hand-painted to the base over the Moorcroft factory stamp and facsimile signature. The original paper sticker By Appointment... Potter to HM The Queen is retained. A small glaze burst created in manufacture is apparent on the the lower edge of the vase (see our final photo). This does not detract from the beauty of the vase, but is reflected in its price.
We offer 1-3 day shipping on all pieces in the UK.
