Twists Glass offer a unique range of handcrafted glass giftware and collectibles, designed and handcrafted by Mike and Sue Hunter in Selkirk, Scotland.
Like the famed glassmakers of Murano, Twists use the vetro a retorti or Zanfirico technique, which was popular in 17th and 18th century Italian glass. Zanfirico is a type of multicoloured glass cane made by assembling a bundle of rods of different colours, heating them until soft, then twisting them into a spiral pattern.
Each piece is blown or fused using traditional methods, meaning no two pieces are exactly the same. We photograph each item in our studio, so the piece you see is the piece you’ll buy.
