Each Saturno figure begins as a die-cast form in solid sterling silver, carefully hand-polished to a brilliant lustre. Skilled artisans then apply multiple layers of vitreous enamel by hand, with repeated glazing and firing at high temperatures to achieve depth, clarity and richness of colour. This intricate process gives every animal its distinctive character and luminous finish.
A final protective lacquer helps prevent tarnishing, allowing your Saturno piece to retain its shine without the need for regular cleaning.
Every figure carries a full UK hallmark: the maker’s mark, sterling quality number 925, Birmingham assay anchor, lion fineness mark, and the letter for the year of assay. Though small, these marks guarantee authenticity and uphold the tradition of fine British silver.
