This flambé Orchid Vase, standing 6 inches tall and 4¼ inches at its widest point, was made c.1949 by Walter Moorcroft and bears his initials to the base. Expertly tubelined and exuberantly painted, it is a desirable mid-sized piece.

To photograph this piece we have used floodlighting to draw out the richness of colour and the fine detail of the tubelining. In softer, natural light the palette appears a little more subdued, though no less striking.

Very good condition, with light glaze crazing consistent with age. Walter Moorcroft painted initials to base.
