‘William De Morgan was a designer, novelist and potter. A lifelong friend of William Morris, he designed furniture, tiles and stained glass for Morris & Co. between 1863-1872. Many tiles were designed with intricate patterns and are a great source of inspiration for Rachel. Her vase features an ornament of radiating blue flower petals with tiny tubelined red centres and arching green leaves framing the blooms in an Arts and Crafts style.’
