“The hedgerow, mostly bare and twiggy, still offers a touch of colour with the yellow hazel catkins that appear in late winter and the bright yellow breasts of blue tits. These catkins rely on the wind and the assistance of these feathered friends to spread the pollen on its journey.

During these lean times, blue tits search for galls to sustain them through the dark days, bringing life and a splash of color to the hedgerow. This delicate winter scene is beautifully captured in Moorcroft Pottery designer Nicola Slaney’s enchanting Colours of Winter Miniature 914/2 Vase.”
