Moorcroft Pottery: 1913–2025
It was with great sadness, though little surprise, that we learned of Moorcroft’s bankruptcy filing last week. The company had faced mounting challenges for some time: rising production costs, declining demand, and discounting strategies that alienated many loyal buyers. Sales could no longer be sustained.
Our thoughts are especially with the workforce, whose combined skill and artistry are unlikely to be equalled again.
Most of our stock sold within hours of the announcement, though many beautiful pieces remain available on our site. If you placed an order last week, please bear with us – holiday-period congestion has caused some delivery delays. We are also restructuring our Moorcroft pages to reflect our stock in a clearer fashion, a task that may take a few days.
We will continue to offer Moorcroft while we can still obtain stock, though quantities will inevitably be limited. We also remain committed to vintage Moorcroft – enduring in both quality and beauty.
Our shop has sold Moorcroft for nearly 40 years; we have been at the helm for the past 25. This is truly the end of an era.
