The RHS Applebee Collection
Caroline Maria Applebee (c.1787–1854) was a talented amateur watercolour artist whose works were unpublished until the latter part of the last century. Applebee painted floral subjects almost continuously for over forty years, and the RHS Lindley Library holds over three hundred of her works, superbly executed studies of plants and flowers fashionable in the early 19th century.
Moorcroft Pottery designer Nicola Slaney has designed seven pieces inspired by Caroline’s paintings – The RHS Applebee collection.
